20th Anniversary Retrospective
Birr Vintage Week & Arts Festival is delighted to feature part of Anam Beo’s 20th Anniversary Retrospective, with special events running throughout the week.
For two decades, Anam Beo has been nurturing creativity, self-expression and empowerment through the arts. Working in care and community settings, Anam Beo’s artists create welcoming, inclusive spaces where participants are encouraged to explore their creativity.
Exhibition Launch Event

John Beasley Retrospective

John Beasley (1922–2019) was a farmer, soldier, WWII bomb disposal expert, horticulturist, trade unionist – and an artist. Over 15 years of weekly Anam Beo sessions with Rowena Keaveny, he developed a deeply personal body of work rooted in memory and place. Beginning in 2006, he painted into his late nineties, leaving an extraordinary artistic legacy.

Health literacy is the ability to use health information to make informed decisions. Participants explored how to clearly communicate essential information through creative responses

Robert Alexander and fellow readers will lead a lively poetry walk through the town on Wednesday 6th at 4pm meeting in
Emmet Square and finishing in Craughwell’s Pub.
Sharing beyond the trail
A private poetry recital will also be held for residents at Birr Community & Nursing Unit.
