Join us in the beautiful outdoor classroom for a riot of colour, creativity and community spirit! Help transform the railings with weaving, crochet, and wrapping using wool and reclaimed fabrics as we create a vibrant guerrilla yarn installation bursting with texture and imagination.
Whether you’re a seasoned stitcher or a complete beginner, everyone is welcome to add their own splash of colour, and don’t miss the spectacular child-sized yarn-bombed bed at the heart of the display!
SEEN & SAFE
Birr Theatre & Arts Centre / 2.30pm
A photography project showcase exploring refuge and identity among Ukrainian women living in Birr, connecting their experiences to The Law of the Innocents, enacted in Birr in 697 AD as an early legal protection for women, children and non-combatants. Through smartphone photography, participants weave a tapestry of images that together tell the story of being "Seen & Safe", where their phones are witnesses to their new lives. A digital version of the project will be on exhibition in St Brendan’s Hall throughout the festival. Supported by Offaly County Council through the Creative Ireland Community Grant Programme 2026–2027
