ONCE UPON A TIME – IN A TIME OF COVID19

We did a month’s residency in the Laundry, in St Finbarr’s Hospital, Cork, some years ago. During the process, we spoke with elderly long-term patients about memories of washing, mending, ironing, folding and ordering sheets.
Now in the time of Covid19, and in lockdown ourselves, we revisited this short film which has never been seen publicly. In the artwork, the sewing needle is utilized to unravel past histories. We realized that this short performance perfectly expresses the grief of this ‘New Time’.
